Unit of Inquiry - Sharing the Planet

Central Idea: Life on Earth is reliant on the systems and cycles of nature

Current Line of Inquiry: Animals and the role they play

UOI Reflection
This week the children have been learning about farm animals. As we close out our final unit and get ready to say goodbye to each other, we are practicing skills that the children will need for their transition to K1.

Maths

This week - we have been continuing our work on number recognition and addition by counting the animals on the farm
Next week - we will be continuing our work on number recognition and addition and practice problem solving





Phonics
This week - we have been continuing to develop our body percussion, by following the rhythm pattern



Literacy

This week - we read the story 'What the Ladybird Heard' and drew our own ladybirds
Next week - we will be recording our responses to Ms Phibz Flipgrid video as we begin our transition to K1.




Thai

This week - the children have learned the letter ถ ถุง
Next week - the children will be learning the letter ท ทหาร




UOI

This week - we have learned about animals that live on the farm and created our own farm scenes.

Next week - we will continue to learn about farm animals by finding out about their homes and their babies.

Additional Activities

In addition, the children have been participating in some additional activities such as constructing sentences, sorting animals and practicing their pencil control.
