Unit of Inquiry - Where we are in place and time

Central Idea: Life on Earth is reliant on the systems and cycles of nature

Current Line of Inquiry: Animals and the role they play

UOI Reflection
This week the children have been learning about animal adaptation. We have looked at different animals and why they are suited to their environment.

Maths

This week - we were revisiting our learning on colours and we used what we learnt to draw a rainbow. Some children even had a colour hunt around their house.

Phonics

This week - we have been exploring the sounds that sea animals make and we played a game on the computer matching the animal to the sound

Literacy

This week - we practised writing our names using whiteboard pens, rearranging the letter cards and making the letters with playdough

Thai

This week - the children have learnt the letter  ฏ ชฏา

UOI

This week - we learnt about why different animals live in different places. We learnt about the polar bear's black skin, an owl's big eyes, a fox's tail and a penguin's wings.

After the Break...

It is looking likely that we will return to online learning on Monday 20th April. After the break, preschool will start to learn about toys from the past. You have already been given resources to support learning on this topic. In maths, we will recap the learning that has happened so far for numbers, colours and shapes, and we will revisit our prior learning for Phonics and Thai. During the first week of Term 3 teacher's will prepare another pack of resources to support students learning at home for a further 2-3 weeks. While we are hoping to re-open at the beginning of May we are unsure if this will be possible.

Parent Notices

18 Mar - SCHOOL CLOSED TO ON-SITE LESSONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
20 Apr - School reopens for the starts of term 3, continuing with online learning
