TIMETABLE CHANGES: Due to providing double sessions for swimming throughout the school, Preschool's PE days have changed. We will now have PE on Monday and Thursday.

Thank you to everyone who attended our stay and play on Thursday morning. We really hope you enjoyed coming to see some of the learning that has been happening over the past half term. Below is a description of some of the learning that was taking place while your children were playing.
Mark-Making

Children are building their hand-eye coordination and fine motor muscles ready for writing, recognising the patterns letters make, recognising the letters in their name and developing their understanding that print has meaning.

Creative

Children are learning shape recognition, recognising shapes in the environment, creating patterns and developing creativity.

Maths

Children are learning how to form shapes, how to sort and categorise objects by given criteria, recognising colours and building fine motor muscles and hand-eye coordination.

Reading

Children are learning the patterns of language in English and Thai, that text holds meaning, to read from left to right and front to back. Children are developing their speaking and listening skills and developing their imagination.

Here are some photos from our stay and play:

Maths

This week in maths we have been exploring shapes. Our shape of the week has been a circle and we have been using lots of different resources to make circles as well as learning a rhyme about circles.

The children also used shapes in the creative area to make a picture.

English/Phonics

This week the children have been working on further developing their fine motor skills by practising their hand-eye coordination to place the loose parts onto the pattern cards.
The children have also been using an App called Write My Name to practice writing their names.

Specialist Lessons

This week in Library...

Learner Profile

This week we have been encouraging the children to be balanced by being equally engaged in active and restful activities. We have been continuing with our practice of meditation each morning and this is balanced with an active good morning song.

International Mindedness/Student Choice (UOI)

This week the children were invited to the Community Hub where year 5 had set up a shopping experience as part of their inquiry into money in maths.
All of the children were given tokens to spend and Year 5 had to work out the correct change to provide. Some of the stalls even had sales on. Polar Bear class had lots of fun shopping and spending their tokens. Well done Year 5!

The children also used the train track, garage and building blocks to make a town.
