This year Thai is being taught by the Teaching Assistants in Preschool and K1 in order to better integrate Thai into our play-based learning at these levels. We would like to integrate Thai into all aspects of the children’s learning rather than it being only taught through a stand-alone lesson. However, there will be some scheduled activities around Thai culture and literacy. For example, this week in Thai the children have been learning about Wai Kru ahead of our event next week and participating in Wai Kru activities.

Maths

This week we have been looking at shapes. The children have been working on circles.

Phonics

This week the children have continued with their mark-making practice. They made self-portraits using paper plates and collage materials.

Specialist Lessons

This week in Thai we have been getting ready for our Wai Kru celebration. The children have coloured in pictures which will be judged by the Thai teachers and we have been practising for presenting the teachers with the flower trays for the ceremony.

Learner Profile

This week we have been encouraging the children to be principled by sharing with their friends and tidying up after themselves.

International Mindedness/Student Choice (UOI)

Across EY we will begin to implement class names this year. We asked Preschool class to vote on what our class should be called and they chose Polar Bears!
