Reflection and action

IB Focus/School Vision/Mission

The programme of Inquiry and all corresponding Unit planners are the product of sustained collaborative work involving all the appropriate staff.

When planning our Units of Inquiry, the teachers and teaching assistants from all three Early Years classes are involved. Depending on the Unit of Inquiry, we also invite specialist teachers to join us from PE, Music and Thai. Through discussion, we establish children's currents needs and interests and try to plan a basic outline for where out Unit teaching will begin. This forms our 'Tuning In'. As we teach this section of the Inquiry Cycle, we make notes on the children's questions and interests. We then come back together as a team to discuss what steps each class will take through the rest of the Inquiry Cycle and the Unit.

Sports Day 2019

Congratulations to Green Team who came in first place at this years Sports Day event! Everyone had lots of fun joining in the activities and all tried our best! I am so proud of you all!
Thank you to all the parents for supporting your children at this event, it is always wonderful when you have the opportunity to get involved.
We hope you all had a fantastic time and we can't wait to do it all again next year!

Maths

This week we have continued our work with shapes. We worked on naming triangles, circles and squares and selecting a named shape. We used these shapes to make printed pictures.

Phonics

The children have been really enjoying listening to stories this week. We have really improved our listening skills. We have also been practicing our mark-making and learning how to hold the pencil in a 3 finger grip.

Specialist Lessons

This week in Thai...

Learner Profile

This week the children were Reflectosaurus'. I asked them to think back over our current Unit of Inquiry and remember all the toys we made and all the different ways we found we could play. I asked them to draw their favourite in our floor book.

International Mindedness/Student Choice (UOI)

This week the children took Action. We brought back all the toys and games we had made throughout our Unit of Inquiry and placed them around the classroom like an art gallery. Then we invited children from K2 to come and look at our exhibition and to share our learning with them.
