Welcome to Term 2!

Welcome back to UDIS Preschool and welcome to our new families and classmates!
This week we have had three new children start Preschool, please help to make them feel welcome. We have Venice, Kool and Saen. 




This half term our Unit of Inquiry (UOI) is How We Express Ourselves. You can find more information about this on the Preschool Parent Information Board. 

Maths

This week the children have been problem solving. They came back to class after the holiday to find many of our toys are missing and have been replaced with recycled and junk materials. How can we use these to play?





Phonics

This week in phonics we worked on the children's listening and communication skills. To start off our UOI, I asked the children what are their favorite games or toys.


Specialist Lessons

This week in Thai class the children learnt about Children's day. 







Learner Profile

This week and next week our focus has been on the 'Care-raptor' Learner Profile. As it is the beginning of a new term, and we have had new children start the class, I have been looking for the children to show sensitivity and kindness towards each other when their friends are upset.

Student Choice (UOI)

The children really enjoyed our Tuning In sessions this week. We read the story 'Not a Box' by Antoinette Portis, and then we talked about what our 'not-a-box' could be. The children had some very imaginative and creative ideas!









Parent Notices

Please remember to sign your children in and out each morning using the signing sheet outside the classroom.

Gates open at 8:00 am and class starts at 8:25 am.

 Library - your children will bring home Library books on Monday to return the following Monday

 PE - please send your child in PE kit on Monday and Tuesday
