Think-atops

Parent Readers

This week we have been lucky to be able to welcome some more parent readers into our class. The children love hearing all the stories you share at home as families. A huge thanks to all those who have participated and please let us know if you would like this to become a regular feature. Family Friday Reading once a month?

Maths

This week in maths we have been continuing to explore patterns with more finger painting fun, and we have been learning number rhymes. Try singing 5 little-speckled frogs, 5 little men in a flying saucer, or 5 little monkeys at home.

Phonics

This week in phonics we have been practising our listening skills. We have looked at pictures of different modes of transport, learnt their names and learnt the differences between them. We talked about if they had wheels, wings or something else to help them travel.

Specialist Sessions

This week in Thai the children have been learning about the alphabet and writing their Thai names.

Learner Profile

This week we have talked about being a 'Think-atops' and using our thinking skills. The children have been receiving stickers for the attribute they are displaying in class each day. Outside the classroom, we are displaying the children's learner profile sticker chart. Please check these regularly and talk to your child about why they have received each sticker The children also get to put their picture up next to the dinosaur on our Learner Profile display.

International Mindedness

This week the children made Rangoli pattern's to decorate the school. This is part of celebrating the Hindu festival of light, Diwali. The children painted the patterns onto paper plates using different coloured glue and then coated the glue in salt to give texture. These will be displayed outside the classroom.
