Loy Krathong
Loy Krathong
This week the children have learnt a lot about Loy Krathong and participated in a whole school assembly to celebrate the festival. We also made Krathongs in the classroom. It was lots of fun and the children looked so smart in their Thai clothes. Thanks to all the parents for the flower donations. Our celebrations would not be the same without your support. Be sure to check out all the photos, by scanning the QR code on display outside the classroom!
Maths
This week in maths we have continued to learn number rhymes such as '5 cheeky monkeys' and '5 little ducks'. We also went out into the sand area to see how many dinosaur fossils we could excavate, went on a number hunt and played number Splat!
Next week we will go on a shape hunt.

Phonics
This week in phonics we played the game 'Where is Teddy'. We listened to lots of sounds from around the house and tried to work out which room Teddy was hiding in. We will practice this more next week.

This week in PE the children have done lots of work on their gross motor skills such as crawling, jumping and throwing.

Parent Notices
Miss Bom
We said a temporary goodbye to Miss Bom this week as she moves to support Mr John E in year 5 while Miss Luck is out sick.
Miss Snook has joined Pre-school as TA and will continue this role after Miss Bom returns as we are set to see our class numbers rise to 14 after the Christmas break. Miss Snook has settled really well into the class and has already built a fantastic relationship with the children. We are really excited to have her on board.
Christmas
For our Christmas celebrations this year each class has been asked to choose a country to learn about and then perform some sort of show to demonstrate the children's learning. Each class will also hold a stall where they will sell something or play a game, related to their country. Preschools country is Italy and we will be performing a song in conjunction with K1 and K2. Please encourage your child to practice our song at home. You can find the song here.
We are also asking parents to support us by volunteering to sell food or drinks are the Christmas event. If you would like to volunteer for this, please see the sign-up sheet on the Parent Notice Board outside the classroom.
