Week 3! Introduction to Who we are
This week the children have begun to learn about families. On Monday we looked at Peppa Pig's family and learnt the words for 'mummy', 'daddy', 'brother' and 'sister'. Many of the children have been really successful at picking these up!
On Tuesday we counted how many family members Peppa had and then tried to count how many people were in our families. The children also had their PE session with Mr Ivan and had lots of fun travelling different paths. This was great practice for their balancing skills.
Wednesday was our deep clean day. Miss Charlotte, Miss Bom and Miss Goy spent the whole day cleaning all the floors, shelving, furnishings and toys with Dettol to kill any nasty bacteria and viruses that might be lurching in the classroom. It smells so clean now!
While the children were out we also redesigned a few areas based on how the children are using them. We have moved the small world area into the middle of the room to give the children more space to play with the train track and the dinosaurs. We have moved the creative area closer to the sink to make it easier to clean up when we have finished our messy play. Miss Bom has created some shiny 2D shapes on our floor and Miss Charlotte added a number line by the door to help the children with their maths skills and lining up! What a busy day!
On Thursday the children had their library visit (this will normally be on a Monday but we missed it this week. Oops!) Please return their books on Monday so they can choose a new one. We also recapped the learning that had taken place on Monday and Tuesday by naming and counting the members of Peppa Pig's family again, before going to draw our own families!

Parent Rep
Thank you to Yu Qian's mum for volunteering to be our class parent representative. If you have any questions or suggestions to help Preschool, she will help you to communicate these to the class teacher and will also be helping the class teacher to communicate important information and reminders to you. Miss Nawaporn Neramittagapong will also be attending the PTA meetings. Any other parents that wish to attend these are welcome and the first one will be on Monday 10th September.
If anyone else is interested in joining Miss Nawaporn Neramittagapong as a parent representative for our class, please let me know.
Activity Information
If you wish to know more about what your child is doing in class each week, please check the parent notice board outside the classroom under the 'Planning' header. Here you will find the teacher's planning for the current week's activities and what resources your child will have access to in each of the learning areas. As the children are still learning our routines and settling into class, these are very basic at the moment and will continue to grow and develop with your children's needs and interests.
Nap times
Preschool children are still being changed for nap times and this will continue to happen until the October break. After this point, we will begin to phase out changing the children for nap time. Please be assured that the children will still have the opportunity to learn dressing skills through dressing up and role play. Also, if your child gets 's dirty during the day, we will still be changing them into clean clothes so please continue to send a spare change of clothes in case your child becomes dirty or wet, however, pyjamas are not necessary.
I wish you a happy and healthy weekend!
